DESCRIPTION OF VIDEO CLIP:
-This video clip is from the Reality TV Show: Jersey Shore. The
goal for this Video Clip is to find how Jersey Shore uses product placement, specifically to meet the OBJECTIVE OF FORMAT.
Questions:
1. What is the theme of this clip?
2. In your opinion, what is the meaning of this clip? What message are you taking away?
3. How will society see it? Would you both see it in the same way?

1. I would say the theme of this is obviously product placement, and the theme of that product would be Fossil watches.
2. When I watch this clip, I immediately get the feeling that I need a Fossil watch. I mean, if the people on one of my favorite shows loves Fossil watches, I need one!
3. Society, or at least older generations, don't look at this show as being positive, so they are probably annoyed. So, no they wouldn't have the same meaning.
4. I think I kind of already answered this but, for me, this was effective. But, I could also see how this could be annoying to other people.

----The meaning is "Buy Fossil watches because the Jersey Shore cast does!"
3. How will society see it? Would you both see it in the same way?
Why or why not?
----I watch E! Television a lot, and it seems like a lot of people hate the cast and how they represent "Italians", so society might think "Don't buy Fossil watches because Jersey Short does."
4. Is the product placement intrusive while you're watching the clip or effective?
----I think its intrusive. I mean, how many times do you have to say Fossil watch? I got it the first time!

1. The theme of this clip is using Fossil watch as their product placement.
2. The meaning/message I take away from this clip is to buy a Fossil watch. Obviously if the Jersey Shore cast likes them, and have become so famous, I definitely need one too.
3. Society might see it differently depending on if they like the show. Some people believe the characters are a disgrace, and many brands like Abercrombie and Fitch have actually paid one cast member NOT to wear their clothes. So, this may discourage some people to buy Fossil products.
4. While I think the naming of the product was over the top in the clip, it wouldn't have disrupted my thought process while watching the actual episode.

1. Selling or promoting Fossil watches
2. I'm getting the impression that I should buy Fossil watches. But, I don't really like Jersey Shore, so I probably wouldn't buy one.
3. I guess it would depend on the age group. I think younger ages would like it because they like the show. My parents and other people of their age group would probably hate it and not be inclined to buy the watch either.
4. Intrusive and annoying. I already think Jersey Shore is stupid, so this made it worse

- In my opinion, the meaning of the clip is that if you buy a girl an expensive product, she'll sleep with you. Basically taking away the same message, as well

- I think some people in society would see it as how I portrayed it in #2, but I don't think we'd both see it the same way because many might think that they want to buy fossil watches because they like jersey shore, whereas I hate Jersey shore and would not buy the product because of the show
4. Is the product placement intrusive while you're watching the clip or effective?
- I think it is effective because it is showing that the fossil brand is something to desire.

1. The theme of the clip is the Fossil watch.
2. I'm taking away the fact that the Jersey Shore kids think Fossil watches are really cool and in, so therefore the public will probably all want them now. Or at least the teenage crowd that watches the show.
3. Society will see it as a selling tool for the company, and so will I. It's product placement that is obvious, so it's trying to get the company name out there. If it wasn't, then Fossil would have had their name taken out of the video because it is its own company and brand...but they obviously wanted to be promoted by the Jersey Shore people.
4. I think it was effective, but annoying. Most people do buy or remember products with constant repetition of the brand name and title, so it could work out for them! It's a good strategy and technique.

1. The theme of this clip was product placement for Fossil brand watches
2. The meaning of this clip was that Fossil watches are the best and are bought by JWow on Jersey Shore, so everyone watching the show should want one. I think this clip is trying to get the audience to buy Fossil watches because they are popular today and cool.
3. Teenagers will watch this Jersey Shore clip and want a Fossil Watch. Jersey Shore has product placement being used and is promoting the Fossil brand. Many teenagers in our society will see this clip and want a Fossil watch, but I found it annoying, so I would not buy one. The Fossil name is stuck in my head after watching this.
4. I think the product placement is most of the video so it could be seen as intrusive, but it gets the name Fossil out for people to see and buy which is what Fossil wants. Jersey Shore may have gotten a deal out of promoting the Fossil brand on their show.

-The watch is the theme because the clip is centered around the product.
2. In your opinion, what is the meaning of this clip? What message are you taking away?
-I think the meaning of this clip is to try to persuade viewers (probably younger in age) to purchase this product because the cast of Jersey Shore owns them.
3. How will society see it? Would you both see it in the same way?
Why or why not?
-Like I said above, most teens will buy this product because it is associated with the show. Older generations probably won't because they either don't watch the show or they don't like the behavior of the cast.
4. Is the product placement intrusive while you're watching the clip or effective?
-The images of fossil watches were literally the only thing I could think about after awhile. I couldn't even tell you what the actual clip was about...

1. The theme of this clip is the Fossil watch and Jersey Shore
2. This clip showed me that people on Jersey SHore think Fossil watches are expensive and cool. Because a guy got Angellina a Fossil watch Ronnie and Vinnie and PaulyD think that guys going to get sex from her. They said Fossil too many times.
3. Society will see that Fossil watches are cool and they should buy them just like I did after watching this. Jersey Shore is telling you to buy something, and Jersey Shore is cool, so youll go buy it. Yes this clip would make me buy a Fossil watch for a girl because the guys think its cool.
4. There is product placement in the video clip but I don't really know what intrusive means. I guess they said Fossil watch a lot and that is really annoying. It would be effective because it made me think of buying a Fossil watch, but the whole clip was annoying and I wouldnt buy a girl a watch right away

Probably the same way I see it.

Because, Its jersey shore for one, most people have a certain perception about that show already. Also they basically tell you what they think the watch .

I think its effective, We all know that its a fossil watch and believe it or not, im sure after watching this episode a lot of peole went out and bought that same white fossil watch

#1. The theme is Jersey Shore and Angelinas Fossil Watch
#2. The meaning is that you should buy a Fossil Watch because celebrities like them and theyre nice. The Jersey Shore cast likes Fossil watches and they all want one.
#3. People who watch Jersey Shore will see this and want a Fossil watch next time they go to the mall. I dont want a Fossil watch because I think theyre dumb and this video is kinda stupid too. Jersey Shore isnt that cool anymore. H
#4. The product placement is not intrusive, but it's annoying. it doesnt take away from the show because they talk about products a lot so its nothing new. It might get people who listen to everything Jersey Shore says to get to buy the Fossil watches, but I wont.

2.The meaning of this clip is to advertise the Fossil watches. Because the cast of the Jersey shore is advertising the watches, it makes consumers more willing to buy them.
3. Society will see it as a celebrity endorsed product. If people watch the Jersey Shore and like the show, they are more willing to buy the watch. People who don't like the Jersey Shore, however, may be turned off by the advertisement.
4. I see the product placement as intrusive because I don't like the show and therefore I think the meaning of the ad is pointless and annoying. People who do like the Jersey Shore, however, may be attracted to buy the watch.

2. I am taking away from this clip that Fossil watches are important materialistic things to have.
3. I think that society would see the because the people on Jersey shore have these watches, they should to.
4. I think that the product placement would be effective to those who enjoyed the show. Honestly, I think that it was quite annoying and intrusive.
